Ask your numbers in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Type a question in a cell, put the answer in a report, and refresh next month's deck with one click. The same three add-ins, the same metric definitions, and every number computed from your own data.
Month-end is the same work every month: pull the figures, paste them into a workbook, rebuild the charts, copy the numbers into a Word report and a deck, then fix whatever drifted. Quiriz answers from the data itself, so the figure in the cell, the sentence in the report and the chart on the slide all come from one place, and next month you refresh instead of rebuild.
How it works
- Get your data into Quiriz. Upload an Excel or CSV file, push the worksheet you are working in, or connect a source. QuickBooks Online connects directly, and an Excel file on OneDrive can refresh on a schedule. Import copes with real-world workbooks, with stray header rows and notes in the sheet.
- Add the add-ins you want from Microsoft AppSource. Excel, Word and PowerPoint each install on their own.
- Ask. In a cell, in a document or on a slide. The answer comes back as a number, a table, a chart or a written note, in your file's own styling.
In Excel: the answer in the cell, not a formula to maintain
=QUIRIZ.ASK("net revenue by month this year", "table") returns the answer itself. It can be text, a single number, or a table that spills across a range. The mode argument takes verbose, short, table, notes or chart, and an optional reasoning argument takes low, medium or high for harder questions.
- A real Excel chart. The
chartmode spills the table and draws a native chart beside it. Quiriz picks the chart type from the shape of the result and the question. Recalculating updates the chart's data and leaves your own changes to the chart alone. - Readable failures. When a question is too loose, the cell returns a token such as
#NEEDS_DETAILand adds the clarifying question to ask, instead of a guess. - Push the sheet you are in. The task pane turns the active worksheet into a Quiriz dataset, or replaces the rows of one you own, and shows a preview before anything changes. It reads only the active worksheet, and only when you ask it to.
- See what you can ask. A list mode spills every dataset your key reaches with its row count and when it was last updated, and a questions mode spills the starter questions written for each dataset. Neither calls the AI, so they are instant and cost nothing.
In Word: figures that stay true
Put the cursor where the answer belongs and insert it as a Chart, a Table, Both, a single Figure, or written Notes. Tables are real Word tables, captioned with the question in Word's Caption style, and take a built-in table style whose color follows the document's theme, so the result looks like the rest of the document.
- Live figures inside sentences. A Figure puts one value inside a sentence and keeps it live on refresh while the words around it stay untouched.
- Refresh as tracked changes. Tick Mark refreshes as tracked changes and a refresh is recorded in Word's own revision marks, so a reviewer sees exactly which numbers moved.
- Locked where it matters. Lock stops anyone typing over a figure, and a refresh still updates it. A refresh rewrites only what is inside each Quiriz content control, leaving headings, numbering and cross-references alone.
In PowerPoint: next month's deck is one click
- Answers on slides, in your template. Place a Chart, Table, Chart plus Table, Notes or a single Figure. It is laid out in your template's own layout and colors, with charts in the deck's theme colors. Highlight words on a slide and the answer replaces those words.
- Build a deck from a description. Describe the deck you need and Quiriz plans up to twelve slides, each with a headline and the question it will ask. Every title and question can be edited before building. Choose a Basic or Consulting style; a Consulting deck can include an agenda, an executive summary, a Recommendations slide and an Appendix divider, and each chart or table gets two to four takeaways written from that slide's own figures.
- Write the questions into your own template. Type
=QUIRIZ.ASK()markers on your slides, press Build from markers, and the whole deck fills in. A marker alone in a content placeholder is answered inside it, so your layout decides where each chart sits. - Refresh all. Every object carries its question. A refresh keeps each object on the same slide with the same size, position and animations. Chart styling you described in words, such as "a column chart with no gridlines", is stored with the question and reused.
One definition of every number
Define a metric once in Company Context, such as net revenue, gross margin or what counts as an active customer, and every answer follows it, in a cell, a document, a deck or Slack. Ask =QUIRIZ.ASK how a number is defined and it answers from your own definitions. When a source such as HubSpot is connected, its own definitions are added, so answers use the source's numbers. That is the difference between a workbook that agrees with itself and a report that agrees with the deck.
Where the data comes from
- Your files. Excel and text files, zip files of several files, PDFs where only the table is imported, and images of tables. Choose the columns to import and rename the headers before upload, and exclude any column entirely.
- OneDrive. A OneDrive folder or file can refresh on a schedule. Several datasets can share one folder, and each picks the file whose columns match its own.
- Direct connectors. HubSpot, QuickBooks Online and Search Console connect directly. Connections are read-only and refresh daily, and Quiriz never creates, edits or deletes anything in a connected account.
- Email a file. Email the new export and the dataset refreshes, with no app to open.
What stays private
When you ask from Word or PowerPoint, the question and the rows needed to answer it are sent to Quiriz, and the document or deck itself is never uploaded. Quiriz does not use your data to train AI models, uploaded source files are deleted after conversion, and the platform runs on infrastructure in the United States. Privacy policy →
