FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know before you start turning your data into answers.

Getting started
How do I get my data into Quiriz?

There are several ways to import your data into Quiriz:

  • Upload your data directly from your spreadsheets
  • Connect a folder from Google Drive or OneDrive
  • Attach a file in a Slack channel and tell Quiriz to import it
  • Use your AI tools such as Claude Code or Codex to upload your file exactly the way you want
What file types can be uploaded to Quiriz?

You can upload Excel files or text files (CSV, TXT). You can also upload images (jpg, png) or PDF files with data tables — Quiriz will identify importable data tables and let you choose which ones to upload.

I have messy Excel data with column headers not in the first row and fragments of data that shouldn't be imported. Can Quiriz import it?

Quiriz uses AI to review your Excel data and identify data headers along with the stray fragments that are noise and shouldn't be imported. Unless your data is truly unsalvageable, Quiriz will likely import it accurately and let you ask questions about it.

Features
Can Quiriz handle complex reports, not just answer questions?

Yes. If you need a report that requires analysis or insights and / or require synthesizing data from multiple files / sources, you can generate a report in Quiriz. Quiriz will guide you to build a reliable and accurate report everytime you need it. You can share and schedule your reports as well.

Can I schedule data to refresh automatically?

Yes. Connect a Drive or OneDrive folder and Quiriz refreshes your datasets on a schedule, so reports and saved answers always reflect the latest data — no manual re-uploads.

I don't want to manually import a file when my data changes. How do I automate data refresh?

You have many options to automate your data refresh. First, you can easily update data by sending an email to data@quiriz.co with your new file. Briefly describe what the file is and Quiriz will match the file against the datasets you own and update it. Similarly, you can build a data ingestion pipeline using AI tools like Claude Code or Codex to automatically download from your existing business systems and upload or update straight into Quiriz.

How do I install Quiriz Add-ins in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tools?

Quiriz for Excel and Quiriz for Word are live on Microsoft AppSource, with Quiriz for PowerPoint coming soon. Quiriz for Sheets is live on the Google Workspace Marketplace, with Quiriz Presentations and Quiriz Documents coming soon.

Will Quiriz make up numbers?

No. Quiriz answers only from your actual data. But, the quality and the accuracy of the response will depend on how clear your query is. The more detail you can provide in terms of what you are looking for and specifying the nuances, the better the response. For example, if you are asking about refunds, you need to specify whether you are looking for number of orders that were fully / partially refunded or you're looking for the quantity of items that were refunded. Detail matters!

Built for teams
How does my team benefit from using Quiriz?

Quiriz helps your team in a few key ways:

  1. It becomes your project data repository, so team members stop wasting time hunting around for the right file.
  2. It acts as the master of your data — answering questions and running analysis that your team shares and discusses in one place.
  3. It makes repeated questions self-serve, always returning the latest result from Excel, Google Sheets and Slack.
Can I control who sees what?

Yes. Access is governed at the dataset and project level. Invite teammates, group work into projects, and keep sensitive questions and reports member-only. Everyone sees the right data — and only the right data.

How do I install the Slack app to my channel?

It's a quick two-step setup:

  1. Add Quiriz to your Slack workspace (once). In Quiriz, open the user menu and click Install Slack App. Slack will show you exactly what access it needs — approve it, and Quiriz is added to your workspace.
  2. Connect a channel to your account. Go to the Slack channel you want, type /quiriz bind, and Quiriz will send you a private link. Open it, sign in to Quiriz, and choose whether the channel can use all of your data or just one specific project. Click bind and you're done.

From then on, anyone in that channel can @mention Quiriz to ask questions or drop in a file to update your data. You can manage or disconnect a channel anytime from Manage Slack App in the user menu, or by typing /quiriz unbind in the channel.

Can I connect the Slack app to more than one channel, each with its own project?

Yes. You install Quiriz to your workspace just once, then connect as many channels as you like — and each channel is set up on its own. Run /quiriz bind in each channel and choose what that channel can see: your full account, or a single project.

That means one channel can be tied to your Sales project, another to Finance, and a third to everything — so each team only asks about the data that's relevant to them. Each channel keeps one active connection at a time; to point a channel at a different project, just unbind and bind it again. You can review every connected channel and its project under Manage Slack App.

Where is Quiriz data stored?

Quiriz uses enterprise-grade infrastructure located in the western region of the United States.

What happens to the files I upload? Should I be concerned about privacy?

We never permanently store your uploaded file. When you upload, the file is held only temporarily while Quiriz converts it into structured data — then the source file is deleted. Only the converted data, a small data sample, and basic metadata such as the file name are stored securely in our database on enterprise-grade infrastructure in the United States. Your original file is never kept, and it is never placed in any third-party cloud storage.

If your data contains sensitive personal information, we strongly recommend removing it before uploading — or simply choosing not to import those columns during the upload process, where Quiriz lets you exclude any column you don't want stored.
